What Is ASR? ASR stands for Automatic Speech Recognition. It is a system that listens to the audio with outstanding accuracy and records the words it hears.

Similar in concept to Siri, Alexa, or other smart devices that you might talk to.

Skribe uses a Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) model that understands more words, contexts, and usage.

ASR is different than some systems (like Dragon) that use Natural Language Processing (NLP) to write text.

Rough Transcript

Once we capture the media, our ASR creates a rough transcript in just a few minutes.

Rough transcripts sometimes have issues such as the spelling of uncommon names and places and grammar and punctuation.

The rough is for you to immediately review the video record and aid in creating video clips.

Once processed, the AI rough draft is synced with the official video record.

Not an “AI Court Reporter”

Our main difference is that we do not need to pay a human to write everything down; ASR is used after the event to transcribe what was said.

We use the recorded audio as a non-stenographic alternative to traditional methods.

We offer an optional feature (powered by our Generative AI) for post-deposition analysis and review, but it’s not used for making official transcripts.
